PaddingtonNow BID has joined the #RaiseTheBar campaign in partnership with industry trade bodies, politicians and partners across the UK including other British BIDs. The campaign calls on government to support more businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors.
Under current Coronavirus support packages, the Government has offered cash grants to businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors with a rateable value of less than £51,000.
Organisations from across the industry, including Paddington BID, believe this excludes a significant number of valued businesses in our area.
The #RaiseTheBar message to government is simple:
Increase the threshold from £51,000 to £150,000 and save tens of thousands of businesses from going under by allowing more businesses the opportunity to access the £25,000 grant.
