PaddingtonNow BID have partnered with the Big Butterfly Count to give you the opportunity to take part in the worlds biggest survey of butterflies.
The Big Butterfly Count is a nationwide citizen science survey aimed at helping to assess the health of our environment.
Did you know that there are 59 species of butterfly in the UK and over 2,500 species of moth? Not only are they a stunning sight, but they’re also vital indicators of environmental health, an integral part of the food chain and powerful plant pollinators!
Join Steve from Big City Butterflies, on Tuesday 1 August for a Big Butterfly Count Walk from Norfolk Square in Paddington to Hyde Park. On the walk you will learn how to identify common butterfly species in London and how to record them as part of this nationwide project.
All ages are welcome and we encourage children to take part and learn.
Please note this walk is weather dependent and will be cancelled or postponed in the event of wet or windy weather.
