Security Snapshot – August 2026

We are pleased to bring you our August Security Snapshot. Each month, we will provide an overview of the key accomplishments of our Community Safety Team, along with any additional operational updates.     

July – Executive Summary  

July 2026 set a new output record for the second month running: 2,973 field reports and public interactions (up 14% on June’s previous best), delivered across all 23 scheduled rota days — a second consecutive 100% attendance month. Public engagement was the story of the month: 565 public interactions, up 65% on June and the highest on the current like-for-like measure, as the team met peak summer footfall. 

The month combined that visibility with serious operational depth: a drugs seizure and arrest supported at a member hotel, two heatwave medical responses in a single day, a deaf and non-verbal woman personally escorted to safety, and on-street begging reports falling for a fourth consecutive month.

“I had to put a member of the public in the recovery position outside Paddington Station. We often attend incidents like these and due to our swift response, we’re able to help vulnerable individuals before escalating to the emergency services.”

“This month I carried out several welfare checks of the rough sleepers in Norfolk Square. I successfully referred individuals to the Outreach Team. I also submitted various environmental checks via Westminster Report It.”
