The government has mandated that all businesses serving food should close to the public.
However, in a bid to keep the food and beverage industry moving forward, pubs that serve food and restaurants will be able to operate a hot food takeaway service to people at home during the lockdown.
The Government will shortly legislate to bring forward a temporary Permitted Development Right to allow for a change of use.
Once the legislation has come into force, a pub or restaurant will be able to notify their local authority that they are now operating as a takeaway without any prior approval.
Please visit the Westminster City Council planning site for information as it becomes available.
