We are pleased to bring to you our May Security Snapshot. Each month, we will provide an overview of the key accomplishments of our Community Safety Team, along with any additional operational updates.
May Key Achievements
Joe:
“After being alerted to a pickpocketing gang operating in local pubs and restaurants, we gathered various CCTV footage to compile a comprehensive file. This resource will support efforts to deter further incidents and assist with potential stops and arrests. It’s rewarding to play a part in helping to keep our community safe.”
Nicole:
“I had just finished speaking with the staff at one of the local pubs, when a woman approached me. She told me that a man had been following her for some time and asked if I could intercept him so she could get home safely. We decided to follow at a distance to ensure he wasn’t trying to intercept her elsewhere. When he noticed us trailing him, he diverted toward Edgware Road. It felt good to be approachable and able to support someone in a moment of need. I’m grateful she felt comfortable asking for help when she felt unsafe.”
Mike:
“A male causing a disturbance and behaving in a disorderly manner at a local food establishment was swiftly addressed by our team. After repeated warnings were ignored, the individual was escorted from the premises to ensure the comfort and safety of both customers and staff.”
James:
“We responded to reports of a physical altercation involving three females in Norfolk Square Gardens, helping to de-escalate the situation ensuring it remained under control until the police arrived. We like to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for the public in our public spaces.”
Our team will run a crime prevention event at Paddington Square on Thursday 29 May 2025. The event will highlight the growing issue of phone theft and provide an opportunity to share tips and strategies for staying safe in and around Paddington.
