PaddingtonNow – Security Snapshot – June 2025

We are pleased to bring to you our June Security Snapshot. Each month, we will provide an overview of the key accomplishments of our Community Safety Team, along with any additional operational updates.

June Key Achievements

Joe:

“This month I broke up a fight between two members of the public in front of one of our businesses. By responding quickly, I was able to prevent the situation from escalating further. Nicole and I also spent the morning distributing safety leaflets to members of the public outside Paddington station. It is always great to connect with the public and educate them on issues including the rise in phone theft and bogus policing.”

Nicole:

While on patrol, I observed a distressed member of the public who required medical attention. I guided him to the hospital so he could receive the appropriate medical care. One of the aspects I value most about my role is supporting members of the local community and helping them feel safe and welcome. I also attended the Crime Prevention Pop Up at Paddington Square. It was great to raise awareness for women’s safety.

Mike:

“During one of my patrols, I intercepted a confrontational incident involving members of the public. As a result of my actions, the situation was quickly resolved and prevented from escalating further.

James:

“The team and I carried out our first plain-clothed operation at a licensed premises previously targeted by thieves. Joe and Nicole acted as a decoy pair supported by myself and Mike, who were on the arrest team. It was great to do something different and to learn how to communicate using the newly issued radios.”

Leaflet Distribution at Paddington Station

Earlier this month our team distributed some crime prevention leaflets outside Paddington Square. The team spoke with tourists and office workers to increase awareness surrounding phone theft and bogus policing.

Crime Prevention Pop Up at Paddington Square

Our team ran a crime prevention event at Paddington Square on Thursday 29 May 2025. As a proud signatory of the Mayor of London’s Women’s Night Safety Charter (WNSC), we used the opportunity to raise awareness around women’s safety at night. We also addressed the recent rise in phone theft and distributed a range of free safety resources including personal alarms, anti-spike drink stoppers, and crime prevention leaflets.
