PaddingtonNow – Security Snapshot – April 2025

We are pleased to bring to you our April Security Snapshot. Each month, we will provide an overview of the key accomplishments of our Community Safety Team, along with any additional operational updates.

April Key Achievements

Nicole:

Part of our job is dealing with antisocial behaviour, working closely with the police and Westminster Council, but we also look out for the street community. This month, we got a number of calls from local businesses about an intoxicated male. Each time, we made the right referrals, and a couple of times we had to call paramedics. Last week, Joe and I checked on him again and found he was unresponsive. We called an ambulance right away, and he was taken to hospital where they found he had a heart condition and other health problems. He’s now getting the help he needs from the right services, which is great to see.

Joe:

“I helped prevent a member of the public from having their wallet stolen. Whilst walking out of the station, someone tried to steal their wallet. Due to being vigilant I was able to quickly identify the threat and ensure that their personal belongings remained intact.”

Mike:

“This month, I assisted in removing a guest from a hotel who had been smoking in his room and initially refused to pay the associated fine. He was acting disruptively, but after speaking with him calmly, I was able to de-escalate the situation, and he ultimately settled the payment with the hotel.”

James:

“This month I evicted two males from a betting shop and one from a pub. Both incidents occurred after staff reported individuals behaving in a distressing manner.”
