On Wednesday 13 February, BID Operations Manager, Marisa Barrocas attended the London BID’s Summit in City Hall to represent PaddingtonNow.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, hosted the event and praised BID’s for their work, noting that they are ‘making places better’.
The Deputy Mayor for Business Rajesh Agrawal and Jules Pipe, Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and Skills were also in attendance and reiterated the Mayor of London’s endorsement to help BID’s.
This was the Second London BIDs Summit and was this time co-hosted by the Greater London Authority, London First, London Councils, Local Enterprise for London, ATCM, Cross River Partnership and The BID Foundation.
As well as the mayoral team, the Summit also heard from the GLA’s Executive Director for Development, Enterprise and Environment as well as from the Metropolitan Police and Transport for London on the work they are doing and the interaction with BIDs.
BID’s expressed the view that future summits should do more to show what BID’s are achieving and look at how actions on the ground are supporting or pioneering initiatives the Mayor wishes to promote.
