On Wednesday 25 April, PaddingtonNow BID organised a networking event to introduce Paddington BID Hoteliers, concierge and guest relations staff, to GoBoat London in partnership with The Paddington Partnership, and the Draft House Paddington.
38 people from 17 hotels in the BID area came to experience a GoBoat ride down the Grand Union Canal and sample the pizzas, beers and excellent customer service on offer at the Draft House, a BID member and fantastic dining option in Merchant Square.
By connecting hotels to the tourist attractions available in Merchant Square and around the Canal, we were able to give them a new confidence and understanding of what is on offer to tourists, so that when it comes to attracting more customers to stay in their hotels, they can offer first hand experiences of some of the activities and dining options that make staying in the Paddington area such an attractive option.
Attendees were given the opportunity to meet GoBoat Owner Julian Wooton and Draft House manager and host Tom Meyer Higgins. Kay Buxton, Chief Executive of the Paddington Partnership and partner with GoBoat, gave an enlightening speech about the importance of the connection between GoBoat, Merchant Square and Paddington Hotels. Hotels that attended were given discount GoBoat Vouchers to offer to their hotel customers.
Attendees included: The Royal Cambridge Hotel, Shakespeare and Dolphin Hotels, Roseate House Hotel, The Pride of Paddington, Lancaster Court Hotel, St. Davids Hotel, Metropolis and Montcalm, Point A, Norfolk Plaza, The Delmere Hotel, The Indigo and Mercure Hotels, Abbey Court and The Ashley Hotel.
