ACT Awareness is the national counter terrorism awareness initiative for business produced by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) to protect cities and communities from the threat of terrorism.
ACT Awareness encourages communities to work together with the police in order to detect and deter terrorist activity. It aims to give everyone the confidence to recognise and report suspicious behaviour and guidance of how to respond to the most likely types of terrorist activities.
ACT Awareness is aimed at all levels of staff but is particularly relevant to those in front of house and security roles.
This session covers the following modules;
- Introduction to Counter Terrorism
- Identifying and Responding to Suspicious Behaviour
- Identifying and Dealing with Suspicious Items
- Bomb Threats
- Responding to a Firearms or Weapons Attack
- Social Media
The course is free and will take place on 13 November 2019. Tea, coffee and water will be provided during the event.
