PaddingtonNow BID are working together with the Mayor of London office, Camden Council and City of London Corporation to support and raise awareness to the newly launched Idling Action London campaign.
From February 22nd to March 21 look out for adverts on billboards across London, on radio and online which will encourage drivers to switch off their engines when pulled over.
Did you know that air pollution is a major environmental risk to health? Both short and long-term exposure to pollutants has been proven to cause and exacerbate illnesses ranging from eczema and itchy eyes to asthma, cancer and lung disease.
Tackling vehicle engine idling can achieve an immediate improvement in local air quality. Research conducted by TRL on the emissions profile of idling engines demonstrates the surprising amount of harmful nitrogen dioxide emitted by an idling engine. We know that exposure to these emissions damages our vital organs and is linked to serious health conditions.
Help raise awareness by posting on social media using the tag line: Engine Off. Every Stop.
