Transport for London has announced that Bond Street station on the Elizabeth Line will open from 6 November 2022. Trains will also start running on Sundays from the same date.
The new station will provide greater connectivity to those working and visiting Paddington by providing the fasted route to one of London’s top shopping destination. With journey times from Heathrow to Bond Street at just 36 minutes, and from Reading to Bond Street in 56 minutes, Paddington is more than ever a great place to work and stay.
The new Bond Street station will have step-free access, natural light in the ticket halls situated at Hanover Square and Davies Street, and there will be improved public realm around the station.
Trains will also benefit from air-conditioning, WiFi, CCTV and real-time travel information.
The new ticket hall will feature three abstract artworks by British artist Darren Almond. These have been inspired by the embossed metal nameplates found at the front of British locomotives.
Recent projections by Transport for London show that passenger numbers at West End stations are expected to increase by 22.5m by 2026.
