PaddingtonNow is pleased to announce that financial support has been secured to help BID members on Sussex Gardens with their tree pruning requirements in 2022.
The BID has been looking for opportunities to facilitate extensive tree pruning along the North side of Sussex Gardens. This stretch has become particularly overgrown enabling antisocial behaviour as well as ongoing risks to people, property and vehicles.
Through communications with Westminster Council, the Metropolitan Police and WCC approved contractors, the BID has managed to secure Westminster Ward funding for this one-off project, meaning the trees will be pruned to Westminster planning standards, at no cost to BID members on Sussex Gardens, by 31 March 2022.
Whilst providing considerable cost savings to BID members, this project will help improve safety and antisocial behaviour by clearing blocked street lights. It will enhance the overall environment on Sussex Gardens to ensure hotels can confidently welcome visitors back to Paddington as the tourist season begins.
Works began on Saturday 5 March and with your cooperation we hope to complete the project by the end of March.
