Celebrate life on London’s waterways and all the canal has to offer on the 40th anniversary of the event on Saturday 29 April 2023.
Visit this unique and vibrant canal festival in the heart of London, one of Paddington’s much loved free annual celebrations. The event which has taken place every year since 1983, is held in Little Venice along the Grand Union Canal between Blomfield Road, Warwick Avenue and Warwick Crescent. Many of the waterborne homes will be dressed up to the nines ready for the pageant, and visitors can expect plenty of very British fun over the bank holiday weekend.
Whether visiting by boat or on foot, it’s a fabulous day out for you and your family. Soak up the atmosphere surrounded by colourful craft of all shapes and sizes, alongside a multitude of unique stalls, a real ale bar, and delicious foods for all appetites.
Revel in the joys of life on the canal with a mix of eclectic live music around the site, special boating activities like the legendary illuminated procession, and kids’ entertainment for all ages. You’ll also find amazing art from local schools on display, and plenty of opportunities to get involved at IWA Canalway Cavalcade. IWA are currently looking for volunteers for this year’s event – could you be one? Complete our online form here to register your interest.
Please note that the festival site is within London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone, details of which can be found on the TFL website.
