We are pleased to bring to you our July Security Snapshot. Each month, we will provide an overview of the key accomplishments of our Community Safety Team, along with any additional operational updates.
Did you know our Community Safety Officers walk an average of 175 hours each month — that’s roughly the same as walking from London to Edinburgh and back!
Key Achievements
Joe:
“A business contacted us urgently to report a member of the public attempting to steal goods valued at up to £1,000. I successfully detained the individual until the police arrived. By responding quickly, I helped ensure that justice was served.”
Nicole:
“A member of the public approached us to report that a woman had collapsed in Norfolk Square Gardens. As they had already contacted emergency services, we remained with the individual until the ambulance arrived. We learned that she was homeless and experiencing a brain seizure. The paramedics thanked us for our support and safely transported her to the hospital. It was good to be able to assist during a time of crisis.”
Mike:
“While on patrol, we received a call from a local business requesting assistance for a member of the public. Upon arriving at the scene, it was clear the individual was distressed and potentially at risk. I made the decision to accompany him to St Mary’s Hospital to ensure his safety and well-being. It was rewarding to be able to support a vulnerable person in a moment of need.”
James:
“A couple of individuals experiencing homelessness are sheltering in a tent at Norfolk Square Gardens. I successfully submitted a referral to StreetLink to help connect them with the support they need.”
Crime Prevention with the Met Police
On Thursday 3 July, our Community Safety team collaborated with the Metropolitan Police at Paddington Station for a crucial crime prevention initiative. The team gave out safety flyers with general advice on how to stay safe in and around the Paddington area. It was fantastic to see the team engage with so many members of the public.
